Words Spoken Over Dr. Beavers.

BISHOP CREWS

I really hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, Bishop Beavers, that even though there have been great opportunities before you, the greater ones are yet to come.  The Lord says that He is opening a new door; a door that had been shut.  And even as I heard the Archbishop say that you would find favor, I hear the Lord saying that one door that has been closed, knock at it again, and it's going to open, and will bring greater opportunity than ever before.

BISHOP JAMES

As I talked with you the other day on the telephone, I had my congregation and some people begin to pray.  And I heard the Word of the Lord as I was coming here.  And the Lord said that there is a day that you have been seeking for, and the Lord said, "This is the day."  And even as Bishop began to preach about a new day, the Lord said, "This is the day that you have been praying for; the day that you were separated from your mother's womb for; the Lord says "This is the day that He has made and today is a day of rejoicing" says the Lord.  And old things are now passed away and the Lord says "This day all things now become new for you in Jesus name."

BISHOP HUSKINS

Of all the folks gathered, we probably go back further than any.  I was a little boy in a high school gymnasium, and you were the Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor.  And I heard the Lord saying that you have all of these years, I've watched one accolade after another that's been bestowed.  But I heard thte Lord say, "This is not another day of just folks watching an accolade; this is just not another day that deeds have brought you to this place, but the sovereign hand of God has brought you to this place."  This is a new day in ever sense of the word. Folks who think they know Jackey Beavers and have many different opinions of what they know of him, will not know the Jackey Beavers that will walk out of this Cathedral today because of the impartation of the Holy Ghost, there will be testimony that your life, your message, and your ministry changed today.

CANON MISSIONAIRE

KIRBY CLEMENTS

My friend, what we do here indeed we do you no favor.  But yet the Lord was your wisdom, with your source of wisdom and counsel, and the one that will guide you and teach you.  Indeed, this will be the beginning of new roads.  But yet my friend, stretch forth your hand now to bring healing in a greater way; in a greater capacity.  Be one that unites defections in this body of Christ.  Do not divorce yourself from that political place, stretch forth your hand in prayer and touch; speak to the men and women that God will open their hearts for you to share.  Be open to give a word of the Lord and to give the counsel, and God truly will speak to you my friend.  And say not Lord, I know not how to speak of these words; what should I say?  But yet the Lord will speak to you.  And He will give you ears to hear and a heart to be open to Him.  So rejoice man of God!  This was not of your doing but it's the doing of the Lord.

COMMUNION

ARCHBISHOP EARL PAULK

What a joy it is that we come to this moment of communion; not just with this local body, but with the body of Jesus Christ universal.  As we eat His flesh and drink His blood, let us do so remembering the great martyrs of the church, those who have given their lives, those who have gone before us to preach the gospel.  And today, we recognize the entire, full body of Christ.  As we eat of His flesh, and we drink of His blood, we are reminded that this we do in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Meiter

Represents the power of the Holy Spirit; "flames" of the Holy Spirit

Cross

When wearing, be mindful that you have said, "I will lay down my life."  The reason a Bishop wears the cross in his pocket, over his heart, is because the closest thing to him is his willingness to say if necessary, "I will lay down my life for the cause of Christ."

Ring

Represents the royalty of Christ.  You can see the amethyst.   The purple is that color that we wear that represents Christ and is to be worn in great, great humility.  It is not be worn as an honor to you, but it's to be worn when you see that, to be mindful that you've made a covenant with God and His church.  Just as you wear the other ring as a covenant that you made to this little lady here.  Now you wear this ring as a covenant to the church.  And may you wear it in great and great simplicity, and yet in honor.  Remember that God has blessed you.
